One of our favorite photos of Caroline Marshall Draughon was taken while she worked in the flower garden of the President’s Home planting lilies.

 

Originally from Orrville in Dallas County, Alabama, she married Ralph Draughon in 1931. Miss Caroline served as First Lady of Auburn from 1947 to 1965, and until her death in 2005, she was known for her generous spirit and beautiful garden.

 

In 2007, the Center for the Arts & Humanities was named in her honor.
